We've decided to try a little experiment here. Could we assemble a list of places around an event by using a well-known person as our base criteria?
It turns out that even if "trust in peers" trumps A-List, using a proxy to derive interest works quite well (we know, we have been working on this for a while).
So we picked Fred Wilson (and his extended network) to help us choose places in NYC for our trip to the Conversational Marketing Summit. That works quite well, because he's a prolific blogger and shares a lot of places in social/conversational media. He's even using these smartlinks to refer automatically to defined concepts and we thought places would be a great addition to his collection of links. And since he has already blogged about taste neighbors, we believe he would love the concept.
Here's a few select NYC picks from blog posts (with source blog post in via link)
- Little Owl
(via) - Gramercy Tavern
(via) - Spotted Pig
(via) - Mary's fish camp
(via) - Barrio Chino
